Sony’s Xperia Touch Projector

Sony’s Xperia Touch projector has been long awaited, I’ve been waiting for its arrival for over a year, and it’s finally available! Sony’s new product is much more than just a projector, it’s a smart speaker, projector and Android tablet all rolled into one.

It can turn any flat surface into an interactive screen such as tables, floors and walls etc. It is a fantastic way of playing games in an interactive way. Imagine playing a board game, but without the board, you’re still all sat around a family table, still arguing who’s banker, but being able to touch the table to make your move. Or you could turn your kitchen counter into a cookbook to read your recipe from.

The projector uses a built-in camera and infrared light to detect movement at a rate of 60fps. Sony has stated that the Xperia Touch is portable, however, I question this massively as it can only last 1 hour on the battery. I also can’t imagine anyone wanting to transport an expensive projector around with them? So no, it isn’t portable let’s be honest.

It’s seriously smart and if you watch the video below it looks unbelievably cool, but it isn’t exactly affordable for a projector – the  Xperia Touch projector will set you back £1,399.99

The projector itself has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and can be projected up to 80 inches away, it has a built-in stereo speaker and a 13-megapixel camera.

The Xperia also has Google Assistant build in so will respond to voice commands. The projector is a serious show-off gadget, is this a gadget you are thinking of investing in?
