Emergency Breathing System

Designed to prevent smoke inhalation, the emergency breathing system called ‘Saver’ from My Safety iQ is a home-safety device that is essential during the event of a fire. Unfortunately, fires have been in the news recently in the UK due to the Grenfell Tower Fire. The breathing system has a mouthpiece that filters chemical substances and removes carbon monoxide and toxic gases for up to 5 minutes. 5 minutes may not seem like long, but it is a lifetime for someone trying to escape a fire. A valuable lifesaver that will help them escape with significantly less harm to the body than if they were breathing in the smoke.

Easy to use

The Saver can be activated within 5 seconds by removing the plastic cap, biting down on the mouthpiece and placing the nose grip on your nose. Children can even use Saver by holding their nose with one hand and biting down on the mouthpiece.

During 2015 294 people died in fires in the UK, exposure to heavy smoke can cause long-term health implications caused by the toxic fumes. Saver filters these out while also having a bright LED light and alarm on the device that has been designed to penetrate thick smoke.

Surviving a fire is difficult with every minute exposed to smoke your survival rate decreases by 7-10% and after 5 minutes your survival rate is just 25%. The emergency breathing device could increase this and help people prevent long-term effects of toxic fume exposure. Saver should become as common as smoke detectors in the home.

Saver is available to buy at just $69 (£51.50) a small price to pay for a life-saving bit of kit.
